All jobs are not created equal

For a couple of years, I never had to work for more than 40 hours a week (…30 is more like it) . The average age of my colleagues was a couple of decades older than me. Keeping up was not a problem. I even started to write poems and blog in my “spare time”;-) I did not even bother to close the browser when my manager came to my cube. Those were the good old times...

After a couple of years of slacking off (five months ago), I got a job at a company where working 40 hours a week (60 is more like it) is a norm. All of the sudden, I had to keep up with young bright kids who are not much older or even younger than me. Forget poetry … I don’t even have time to eat lunch properly. The fact that they block all the sites where one has the ability to upload files did not help either.

My only consolation is the fact that I do not have to work 100+ hrs a week IN OHIO like Wegesha.

I am trying to come back… slowly….

Hope everyone is doing well!
