Sorry, we're clueless bloggers

I was led from weichegud's blog to yours while I was reading one of her postings that had a link to your site. The link said to see a poetry called Alas at your site but when I clicked on it, your site kept showing me there was no such posting. Am I doing something wrong or am I being taken to the wrong site?

And the verdict on Fara is...

This was a comment left to a previous blog entry we called "Now, this is a response!". We only present it here to help out those who haven't downloaded Geez fonts and only see gibberihs in the comment section.

Misguided?

A group known us “Tegbar Student Association in Ethiopia” has called on high school students to boycott their exams this week.

The following quote from Dagmawi reflects the feeling many of us have:

January 22: Misguided call for high school students to boycott exams next week.  These    minors should not be burdened with the task of spearheading the struggle  against the Meles regime.

Timket is not an EPRDF holiday

Here is an excerpt from an email I received from Addis...

Wanting to do the usual went to St. George Church [to participate in the ceremony when the Yohannes tabot separates from St. George]. The place didn't look like the same at all. Few people were there.... my mum and I went there be habesha lebse demeqen... the "Tabotats" were not there yet. My mum didn't sense good and she wanted us to go away from that place. The place was surrounded by police carrying firearms. Wanted to stay and asked my mum if we could stay a bit to see the situation.

After few minutes we were stuck in the middle. From the other end we can see people running and the police was chasing them. We had to disappear from that place so feten feten eyalen mehed jemeren...back to our house. But then right in front of us there were lots of people carrying stones.

We got home safe, somehow.  Betam yasazen neber. Tabotu Yohannes megbat aqetot neber alu...the kids and the police were fighting. They took most of them alu.... cheger new. [translation: It was sad. According to people, the Tabot from Yohannes could not get into the church. They took most of the kids... Sad situation]
